Google Coordinate, the mobile workforce management software from Google will shut down on January 21, 2016.
The product was launched as a beta to a limited set of users in 2012 and opened to all in 2013. The web interface and mobile apps allow a dispatcher to see its people in the field, manage jobs and team and visualize past jobs and locations to take business decisions
It does not seem that the service got a lot of success, hence the reason why it is closing.
The service might have been a bit so simplistic compared to truly professional, dedicated offering that cater to verticals, integrate with local social laws and offer very sophisticated analytics.
The point also is that Coordinate relied only on smartphones from teams in the field while solutions in this market mostly have dedicated devices fitted to vehicles that do much more, including fuel consumption monitoring, idle engine running alerts, etc.
